Rubber Grommets

Jefferson Runner is a supplier and manufacturer of rubber grommets which may be typically used to protect wire, hose, pipe, or other objects passing through a panel hole. Grommet Bellows Neoprene

Jefferson Rubber offers a variety of standard rubber grommets and military rubber grommets. We manufacture custom grommets and other rubber components to your spec. Rubber grommets are manufactured in a variety of rubber compounds including, silicone, Buna-N, Viton® Neoprene and EPDM. Our military rubber grommets meet the requirements of MS-35489 military regulations and range in a variety of inner diameters, outer diameters, and groove widths.

Rubber grommet applications include motors, tools, cars trucks, trailers, appliances, electronic equipment, and many others. Grommets are used to protect against the sharp edges caused by drilled holes. If your application is for air lines, rope, cable, wiring or tubing, rubber grommets is your solution.

A grommet is a ring that is inserted in punched or drilled hole in a sheet (generally metallic) that creates a protective cover shielding wires, ropes, cables, tubes, hoses, and pipes passing through it from damage caused by sharp edges in the surface. Grommets generally have a flared collar on each side to accurately locate them in the hole and to prevent movement. They are commonly inserted in hole diameters of up to two inches.

Jefferson Rubber also manufactures rubber grommets that comply with MS-35489 specifications for use in military applications. Grommet types available include mounting hole grommets, multiple hole grommets, special internal diameter grommets, extended neck grommets, and electrical bushings.

A rubber grommet will improve the aesthetic or professional look of any wire or cable installation.

Types of Rubber Grommets

Mounting Hole Grommets

Mounting Hole Grommets

Mounting hole grommets are employed when a large grommet flange is not practical because of space limitations.

Oval Grommets

Oval Grommets

Used as a conduit where an oval shaped hole has been used and or for protection of an oval shaped item passing through a panel.

Multiple Hole Grommets

Multiple Hole Grommets

Used as a conduit to protect and separate two or more items that are to be passed through a panel.

Special ID Grommets

Special ID Grommets

Used to protect an item passing through a panel where a standard insulation grommet cannot be used. These grommets may feature holes that are square, diagonal, tapered or uniquely configured inside diameters.

Blind and Plug Grommets

Blind and Plug Grommets

These grommets are used to seal off an aperture in a panel. Blind and Plug grommets are often used when a hole has been stamped into a panel for possible later future use, but hole needs to be sealed before production.

Horseshoe Grommets

Horseshoe Grommets

Horseshoe grommets may be utilized for unique applications when a traditional insulation grommet cannot be installed.

Extended Neck Grommets

Extended Neck Grommets

Utilized for additional protection, rigidity, and stability for the item that is being passed through a housing. Often used for electrical wire that exits the housing of a unit and as plug for appliance.

Electrical Bushings

Electrical Bushings

Electrical bushings protect wires that pass through a panel. Used in appliances such as an iron, power washer wand or similar.
