Job Description

Position: Machine Operator

Department: Production

Accountable to: Production Shift Supervisor

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Entry-Level Machine Operator to join our rubber manufacturing team. This position involves operating machinery used in the production of rubber products, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and assisting with basic maintenance and quality checks. No prior experience is required — we provide on-the-job training!

  • Operate rubber processing machines such as molding presses, extruders, mixers, or grinders under supervision.
  • Load raw materials (e.g., rubber compounds) into machines and monitor processing cycles.
  • Inspect finished parts for quality, defects, or inconsistencies using visual checks and basic measurement tools.
  • Report machine malfunctions or production issues to supervisors immediately.
  • Follow safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
  • Assist with machine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance.
  • Complete production logs and paperwork accurately.
  • Work effectively as part of a team to meet daily production goals.

  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
  • No prior machine operation experience needed; training will be provided.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to [30] lbs.
  • Willingness to work in a hot, industrial environment.
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
  • Flexibility to work overtime when required
  • Must have reliable transportation

Preferred (but not required):

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
  • Familiarity with safety standards in an industrial environment.

Reports to: Shift Supervisor

Shift Hours: 1st shift – 7am-3pm

2nd shift – 3pm-11pm

3rd shift -11pm-7am

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this role. This position is based in a manufacturing environment where the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in accordance with company safety policies. Required PPE may include, but is not limited to, safety glasses (mandatory), hearing protection (recommended), and any additional equipment deemed necessary by safety guidelines.

Employees may be exposed to varying temperatures, including extreme heat and cold, as well as wet or humid conditions. The role may involve exposure to typical industrial hazards such as moving mechanical parts, slippery surfaces, loud noise, vibration, and the risk of electrical shock.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions.

While performing the duties of this role, the employee is frequently required to stand for extended periods, up to 8 hours per shift. The role also requires frequent lifting and handling of items weighing up to 10 pounds, and occasional lifting of boxes or parts weighing up to 30 pounds. Additional physical activities may include walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive motion, depending on the specific tasks assigned.
